Northwest SHARE is run by an all volunteer team of professionals who dedicate their life to the cause of greater good. All Northwest SHARE directors and officers have jobs outside of the organization and do not take any salary or benefits, allowing your contributions to be used 100% in service of the general public.

Our volunteer programs are very flexible to accommodate different individuals with diverse areas of interest and varying levels of commitment. Primary Board of Directors

  • Harry Terhanian – President with over 40 years of non-profit experience in U.S. and France. He holds a B.A. degree – University of Pennsylvania, and a M.A. degree from Beirut University, Lebanon. He graduated from University of Pennsylvania in 1968. He studied 1968-1969 at American University, Beirut. He moved to Paris June 1969 and met Srila Prabhupāda, the founder of ISKCON in July 1969 in Paris who inspired him to start an organization for holistic living, animal protection, a holistic school for kids, and a Performing Arts Center.

    In 1998, he realized this vision and founded Northwest SHARE, for the purpose of organizing programs for the benefit of the general public in the areas of Health, Arts, Relationships and Education and create an organization of volunteers talented in various areas to share their knowledge and services freely with other people, especially those who have not had the opportunity or economic means to avail themselves of good health and education, arts and culture.  Here he has implemented public-welfare programs promoting vegetarian/vegan cooking, raw food diet, arts and culture, music, dance, drama, public speaking, mentoring, interpersonal relationships, arts education, etc. for empowering people with skills to enrich their personal lives.  In 2001, Northwest SHARE opened the first free vegetarian restaurant in Seattle which has been serving high-quality meals for more than 5000 people every year ever since.  In addition, in 2012, he started a first Cow protection farm and spiritual center in Redmond WA and subsequently a second cow protection farm in Black Diamond/Auburn, WA. He has been a member of the ISKCON Governing Body Commission since 1988. He serves as zonal secretary for: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Chad, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Iran, Alaska, Arizona (Phoenix Area), California  (Northern), Oregon and Washington State. He is co-zonal secretary for Armenia, British Columbia, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

  • Latha Sambamurti,  Artistic, Outreach and Development Director
    Latha Sambamurti has won the 2023 Humanities Washington Award,  the highest award in the state for public humanities. The award recognizes her leadership , Scholarship,  service and advocacy in support of humanities, arts, and culture. She is  the producer and director of several large-scale arts and culture festivals in the State of Washington. She has been a Washington state Arts Commissioner and is a vice chair on Redmond Arts and Culture Commission . She is an educator, community leader, trained musician, and band leader. She is an Ardent advocate for Arts and Education and captains the Advocacy TEAM in Artswa, promoting support for Arts and culture among legislators of Washington State.
     She also won the Kirkland Performance Center’s You Rock award for community service in 2018.   She serves as a board director for several state and regional arts and cultural organizations such as 4CULTURE,  Inspire Washington, CWCT, LTAC, City of Redmond, APCC, NWFL , KPC, OneRedmond Foundation,  Festal, city of Seattle ,Temple of Music, Nwshare. She is also an onsite reviewer for 4Culture’s Sustained Support Grant Program. She serves on grant panels of several city, county, state and federal arts organizations . Latha Sambamurti,  Indo Canadian, holds a master’s degree in English Literature  and has carried out research  on Shakespeare’s translations into Indian languages.
  • Don Porterfield – Operations Director, Secretary, Retired from Virginia Mason Hospital.
  • Ramesh Yerramsetti – Treasurer, Events Director, Organizational Strategist,  He holds M.A. and M.S. degrees from University of Alabama, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, currently serving as a Chief AI Product Officer and Architect at MERP Systems.  Previously he worked as a Director at the accounting and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, IBM, Accenture, Microsoft, and government of Andhra Pradesh, India.  He is also a Professor of Vedic Theology at Sammamish Institute of Technology and Advanced Sciences, a division of Northwest SHARE.
  • Viji Raman – Vice President, Executive Director, Synergy Learning Academy. Formerly worked at Walmart HQ. She also heads the cow protection and shelter at Arlington, WA division of Northwest SHARE
  • Vidyasagar Chandrasekhar: Works at Expedia and takes care of accounting and internal audit of the books.


Volunteers

  • Manoj Raheja – Free Food Truck Volunteer. Manoj works at Microsoft as a Principal Program Manager.
  • Bharti Raheja – Bharti supports language education and Free Food Truck.
  • Daniel Phipps: Daniel was originally from Issaquah. His passion to serve enabled him to quit his job working in a restaurant to serve the needy via Free Food Truck.
  • Vikas Singh – Vikas supports the Free Food Truck as a volunteer. He works at Microsoft Corp in Redmond as a Senior Engineer.
  • Puja Krishna: Puja studies in the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology and works at T-mobile. She volunteers for the Free Food Truck.
  • Srujana Madusu and Satish Madusu: Wife and husband team grow organic vegetables to support the food truck operations at the Goloka farm in Redmond, WA.
  • Jaipal Nalla works on backoffice operations. He is an IT engineer in a local corporation
  • Srikanth Satyanarayana – Linguistic training Director, Vice President, Dell – EMC.
  • Lavanya Reddy, Washington Helping Hands, a 30-year veteran in serving the community, former President IAWW.
  • Venkat Iyer – An IT professional gives his spre time for the Vedic Museum, a showcase of the Organic farming and premier animal protection shelter.
  • Sanjay Gupta – a IT professional helps with back-end cooking operations for the free food distribution program and serves as Arts co-ordinator for festivals.
